THE WINERY DOGS LET THEIR HIGHLY ANTICIPATED AND CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED
NEW ALBUM, ‘III,’ OUT OF THE DOGHOUSE TODAY;
“202III WORLD TOUR” BEGINS FEBRUARY 15 IN GREENSBURG, PA
It’s been, well, a literal dog’s age since the vibrant powerhouse trio known as THE WINERY DOGS marked their recording territory with new music. Now, following a seven-year break from the studio, they’re finally back in full force with their aptly named third album III, which was released today on the band’s Three Dog Music label (via Burnside Distribution/The Orchard) on CD and all digital formats, with vinyl coming in a few months.
III follows in the paw steps of their first two albums, once again being self-produced by the band—Richie Kotzen, Mike Portnoy, Billy Sheehan—and mixed by longtime band associate Jay Ruston.
Even without radio airplay, videos for the first two songs to be released from the album—“Xanadu” and “Mad World, both directed by Vicente Cordero--have already accumulated over 1.2 million views on YouTube.
THE WINERY DOGS were finally aligned to record again after their break by initially ensconcing themselves together in Kotzen’s intimate, cozy home studio in Southern California to jam on new material that was mainly created in the moment during many hours of face-to-face musical interaction. Always the driven and intuitive songwriter, Kotzen displays a definitive M.O. whenever he’s working out new songs in the studio by scatting melodies and putting forth short bursts of semi-improvised lines and phrases that will soon enough transform into sharply honed subject matter.
Given the overall breadth and scope of the music that fills the grooves of III, the mutual goal of THE WINERY DOGS is quite direct. “Our objective is to give people a truly pleasant listening experience,” outlines Kotzen. “Our music is created by real people playing real instruments, with all of us doing it in a room together. There’s nothing artificial about it.” Notes Sheehan, “I’d like our listeners to be transported in a way that they can experience what we are going through. Our records are snapshots of life, and how we’re living it. Our music reflects what’s important to us, and what isn’t.” Concludes Portnoy, “The strength of this band is, first and foremost, it’s about the songs. Then comes the musicianship, which is obviously important. What makes THE WINERY DOGS so great is, every one of these songs is memorable, catchy, and singable, but at the same time, you have this great musicianship in all three departments. It’s like a three-ring circus. No matter who you’re watching or listening to, you will always be entertained.”
As III handily proves with each successive listen, just like a fine wine given the right amount of time to ferment and to breathe, THE WINERY DOGS keep on getting better and better with age.
The early rave reviews clearly give III the blue ribbon. Sonicperspectives.com hailed, “THE WINERY DOGS deliver exactly what’s expected of them on their third album: catchy hooks and riffs, funky and soulful moments, with jaw-dropping shredding parts in-between. The production is organic, crispy and clear, and the fun that the trio seems to have while playing together is ultimately contagious…The DOGS are barking at your musical doors louder than ever, and you’d be a fool if you don’t let them in.” While KNAC.com praised, “III features the technical precision that we’ve come to expect from ‘The DOGS.’ They didn’t get stingy on the melody and the incredible hooks and trademark harmonies…As a collective unit these ‘three amigos’ have created another stellar recording, we knew they probably would and now we know they definitely did. III is worthy of all the accolades that it will receive in 2023 and the years to come. 4.5 Out Of 5.0” And Bluesrockreview.com agrees, ““Arguably THE WINERY DOGS’ best album to date and packed with soul, dynamics, and variety, the electrifying III lives up to the high expectations and has the trio taking advantage of enhanced chemistry levels and reaching the peak of their powers. A must listen.”
In touring news, THE WINERY DOGS are gearing up for the launch of their “202III World Tour,” which starts February 15 in Greensburg, PA at the Palace Theatre. Ticket and VIP package info can be found on the band’s official website.
III is the follow-up to the band’s critically acclaimed and Billboard-charting album, HOT STREAK, which was released October 2, 2015 on Loud & Proud Records via RED (a division of Sony Music Entertainment). After landing in the Top Five on many of Amazon’s pre-order charts, including #1 on the Amazon BestSellers/Hard Rock chart and #1 on the Amazon Pre-Orders/Hard Rock Albums charts, it sold 30% more than their 2013 self-titled debut, landing them on various Billboard album charts including #2 on “Top Current Alternative Albums,” #5 on “Top Current Hard Music” and “Top Hard Music Albums,” #6 on “Top Current Rock Albums” and “Album Core / Genre Rock,” #15 “Top Current Physical Albums,” #16 “Top Current Albums,” and #30 on the “Top 200 Albums” chart.

About CARCASS:Ferocious and uncompromising in their execution, CARCASS’s ability to intricately dissect the innards of death metal, and display them for us to sonically understand has been their point of excellence for over three decades. In 2019 the band released their first single in over 5 years “Under The Scalpel Blade,” followed by a 4 song EP entitled Despicable (October 2020), setting a potent precedent for the full length album coming in September: "Torn Arteries." With the album title itself referencing an old demo created by original drummer Ken Owen back in the 80’s, "Torn Arteries" sits as a bookend on the modern side of the CARCASS discography, connecting directly back to where everything began over 30 years ago.

About MUNICIPAL WASTE;
Since 2001, MUNICIPAL WASTE have uncompromisingly stuck to their guns as hard-partying and even harder-hitting torchbearers of 21st century thrash metal. The Richmond, VA quintet—Tony Foresta [vocals], Ryan Waste [guitar], Philip “Landphil” Hall [bass], Dave Witte [drums], and Nick Poulos [guitar]—have transformed from a cult favorite into metal mainstays for a generation. Along the way, Decibel touted "The Art of Partying" in its coveted “Hall of Fame” and asserted it “revved up interest in thrash and inspired a fresh wave of youthful new bands.” Metal Hammer christened "The Art of Partying" one of “The 50 Greatest Thrash Metal Albums Ever,” while Loudwire pegged "The Art of Partying" as “The Best Thrash Album of 2007” and "Hazardous Mutation" as “The Best Thrash Album of 2005.” The guys have sold out countless shows on multiple continents and piled up tens of millions of streams in the process. 2017’s "Slime and Punishment" bowed in the Top 3 of the Billboard Heatseekers Albums Chart, and "The Last Rager" EP only accelerated their momentum in 2019.
Municipal Waste maintain course as vicious and vital as ever on 2022’s "Electrified Brain" [Nuclear Blast] as heard on tracks like "Grave Dive," "High Speed Steel" and "Crank The Heat." Recorded during the pandemic in Philadelphia with producer Arthur Rizk [Power Trip, Code Orange], the sessions would be the first time the band reunited in person after a year. Together, they achieved “a thicker and heavier sound.”

ABOUT NORMA JEAN:
Norma Jean — Cory Brandan [vocals], Grayson Stewart [lead guitar], Clay Crenshaw [guitar/bass], Matt Marquez [drums], and Michael Palmquist [guitar/bass] — plunge into unparalleled emotional depths on the new album. The band unearthed a searing signature style on O' God, the Aftermath in 2005. They struck up a creative partnership with iconic producer Ross Robinson on the seminal Redeemer [2007] and The Anti Mother [2008]. The latter notably boasted appearances by Chino Moreno of Deftones and Page Hamilton of Helmet. Following the acclaimed Meridional [2010], Wrongdoers [2013] represented a critical high watermark with a 9-out-of-10 score from Rock Sound and 9-out-of-10 score from Outburn. On the heels of Polar Similar [2016], they reached another level on All Hail [2019]. In a perfect 5-star review, New Noise Magazine raved, "All Hail is yet another momentous accomplishment on their part," while Kerrang! attested, "All Hail's ambition and execution is worthy of worship." Along the way, they toured with everyone from Rob Zombie and Korn to Mastodon, Lamb of God, and more. During 2021, they recorded what would become Deathrattle Sing For Me with longtime collaborator Jeremy SH Griffith. They nodded to inspirations as diverse as Alice In Chains' Dirt, The Smashing Pumpkins' Siamese Dream, and the sample-and-riff onslaught of White Zombie's La Sexorcisto: Devil Music Volume 1.

In a glowing review of the record, Blabbermouth accurately surmised of ObZen, “This is a distillation of the band's last fifteen years of mindfucking into a defining statement so cleverly-crafted, it manages to come across as monolithic and opaque even with a million skittering moving parts. Pure MESHUGGAH, pure chaos, pure control.” Metal Injection concurred noting, “The album is laced with all the elements MESHUGGAH fans have come to expect from the band -- the angular riffs; the discordant, eerie guitar solos; the polyrhythms and complex arrangements -- but here these elements are melded together into one seamless product which represents a band at the pinnacle of their career."
In celebration of ObZen’s fifteenth anniversary, Atomic Fire will unleash a sonically updated version of the album, remastered by Thomas Eberger and Sofia von Hage at Stockholm Mastering. The re-release of this masterpiece comes in hi-def audio on all streaming platforms, as well as a beautifully enhanced digipak featuring a twenty-page booklet and stunning 180-gram gatefold double vinyl in several marbled and splatter color variants (limited worldwide to under 1500 of each). OVERKILL Bobby Blitz comments, "Man, it seems like for F-in ever since we chatted!!!! Ha! I tell you what, this is the longest ever between Overkill releases, Feb '19 to April '23.
For me, it became my 'peterpandemic' go-to. I wrote my part, tore it down, then again and again. I found myself still changing parts while Colin was mixing! It became the normal in a very abnormal time, sanity amongst the insanity. Somewhere in 'Scorched' that is all reflected, a common thread, it is the place I went to get what I needed, maybe what "we" needed. It's different, that's for sure an old-school approach/mix in a modern world....was it worth the wait? You tell me.......see ya on the road! Horns up!"

THE CONVALESCENCE Release Claymation Video For "No Survivors" ft. CARNIFEX's Scott Ian Lewis
March 2023 USA Tour Dates w/ Casket Robbery, Ignominious
The Convalescence is a five-member symphonic deathcore band formed in Toledo, USA in early 2011. The Convalescence blends black metal/horror theatrics with intense death metal style blast beats and shredding guitar along with brutal slamming breakdowns and catchy melodies. Since their inception, they have amassed an impressive discography including five full-length albums, and have toured extensively across the planet. The latest from them is the single “No Survivors” featuring Scott Ian Lewis of Carnifex accompanied by a claymation music video. Vocalist Keith Wampler details the single and the upcoming album:
“The single is one of the hardest-hitting songs we’ve ever released. The lyrics and video were inspired by the Alien films, and having Scott doing some nasty guest vocals really helped give it the brutality we were looking for. We played it live throughout our recent European Tour and absolutely loved the energy it brings to the stage. We’re looking forward to this one being a part of our live show for many tours to come. This new album is basically like one big horror movie, song by song each one tells a story. Each one is brutal in its own way.”
The Convalescence expects the album will be received well by the fans, as they do their very best to step things up on each record. They worked with producer Jason Suecof on this one at Audiohammer Studios in Florida who has worked with most of their favorite bands (The Black Dahlia Murder, Carnifex, Deicide, Job For A Cowboy) and they were beyond stoked he was down to do the recording with them. In their opinion, they’ve created the heaviest The Convalescence album so far. The full-length was mastered by Christian Donaldson (Cryptopsy) and is expected for release summer 2023.
Filthy, brutal, and symphonic, The Convalescence is recommended for fans of Carnifex, The Black Dahlia Murder, and Chelsea Grin.

In additional news, The Convalescence will be hitting the road this coming March for the "No Survivors Tour" with support from Casket Robbery and Ignominious. Tickets and info are available at Tconband.com.

Jethro Tull announce 23rd studio album ‘RökFlöte’; launch first single ‘Ginnungagap’
Jethro Tull are pleased to announce their 23rd studio album, ‘RökFlöte’, which is set for release on the 21st April 2023 via InsideOutMusic. Following 2022’s ‘The Zealot Gene’, the band's first album in two decades, Ian Anderson and the band are returning with a 12-track record based on the characters and roles of some of the principle gods of the old Norse paganism, and at the same time exploring the ‘RökFlöte’ - rock flute -which Jethro Tull has made iconic.
Today also sees the launch of the first single from the album, and you can watch the stunning animated video for ‘Ginnungagap’ (created by Costin Chioreanu) here: https://youtu.be/KoBAD-TRxYA
The track takes inspiration from the god Ymir, the proto-being, a primeval being, who was born from venom that dripped from the icy rivers called the Élivágar and lived in the grassless void of Ginnungagap.
‘RökFlöte’ will be available on several different formats, including two limited deluxe formats that include bonus demo material, extensive liner notes & a blu-ray featuring Dolby Atmos, 5.1 surround sound, alternative stereo mixes by Bruce Soord (The Pineapple Thief), as well as a bonus track and in-depth interview with Ian Anderson. The album will also be available digitally in the spatial audio formats Dolby Atmos & Sony 360 RA.
The full list of formats are below:

Ian explains the album’s title & theme in more detail: “The title of this offering went through a little change or two along the way. I started with the idea of a predominantly instrumental album for rock flute - as in rock music. When the subject material of the album presented itself, I was drawn to the term Ragnarök from Norse mythology - their version of apocalyptic end times or Biblical Armageddon. The "final showdown" scenario is ubiquitous and inherent in Hinduism, Christianity and Islam, for example. Ragnarök translates as “destiny of the Gods”, the rök part meaning destiny, course, direction. With umlaut firmly in place, courtesy of the Germanic origins of Old Norse, Flute became Flöte in keeping with the spelling. With me so far? I just can't miss the glorious opportunity for a good and legitimate umlaut.”
Jethro Tull continue live dates this year, with shows in mainland Europe. Find the full list of shows here: https://jethrotull.com/tour-dates/
‘The Zealot Gene’, released in January 2022, was Jethro Tull’s 22nd studio album and it garnered critical acclaim across the board. Reaching #9 in the UK album charts, a feat the band hadn’t reached since 1972, it also debuted at #4 in Germany, #3 in Switzerland, #5 in Austria, #8 in Finland, as well as top 10 in the US Album Charts, Current Album Charts and Rock Album Charts.
With more than 30 albums to their credit and sales totaling more than 50 million, Jethro Tull are one of the most successful rock bands of all-time with a catalog that contains classics that still resonate today. Led by Ian Anderson, Tull still continue to tour throughout the world, entertaining audiences of all ages.
The band consists of:
Ian Anderson - Concert and Alto flutes, Flute d'Amour,
Irish whistle and vocals
David Goodier - Bass guitar
John O’Hara - Piano, keyboards and Hammond Organ
Scott Hammond – Drums.
Joe Parrish-James – Electric and acoustic guitars, mandolin

SWIM THE CURRENT
New Single/Video
"WE ARE NOT THE SAME"
Feat. on Vocals Marcos Leal of III Nino.
Editor of GhostCult Magazine
New Jersey/New York - Tri-State Super Group - Swim The Current have come together to release their next single "WE ARE NOT THE SAME" feat. Marcos Leal of III Nino.
Swim the Current is a project founded by guitarist Greg Antine. Antine knew an infusion would be his creation and together with the professional talents of bassist - George Pond (Disciples Of Verity); drummer - Chris Moore (Ultraphonix); guitarist - Joe Gareri (Joe Gareri Project the music written, recorded, and produced would result in a rock music experience. Each single released thus far has placed a well-known featured vocalist and "We Are Not The Same" has certainly accomplished this marker again with Marcos Leal of III Nino as STC's guest vocalist.
"I’m incredibly honored to be a part of this amazing track with such incredible musicians. We're not the same was written as an Angry Anthem, as a way to help me cope with the demons and frustration of my fathers' cancer diagnosis. It helped me Channel a lot of the anger and aggression within me into something much more productive I am very proud of this song and want to extend thanks to George, Joe, and the rest of the members of Swim The Current For allowing me to be a part of such a masterpiece!" Marcos Leal Guest Vocals
“The volume of voice measures the value that the mind puts upon the thought! How we think and feel are direct reflections of our surroundings. You are a product of your environment."

ABOUT:
Having played in numerous bands throughout the years, Guitarist Greg Antine came to a point in his career where he wanted to branch out and write songs that had more depth and were inspired by his personal life experiences. Having grown up less than two miles from the beaches of South Jersey, The entire vibe of Swim the Current is infused with elements of the ocean and beaches of South Jersey where Greg still resides.
Having worked with Bassist George Pond for several years on previous projects including, Disciples Of Verity, Greg expressed his concept for Swim The Current to George in hopes of collaborating with him on this new music venture. The two began to flesh out ideas in George’s home studio and realized quickly that they were on to something special, but still needed something more to see their ideas through to complete their concepts.
Greg was introduced to Joe Gareri, Guitar/Keyboards, by George during the Disciples Of Verity debut album recording sessions which Joe is also featured as a guest artist. The three of them immediately hit it off and worked extremely well together. Greg and George realized that Joe’s cinematic writing style would be a perfect match for their concepts and Joe was then brought in as a full-time member.
After two songs were completed and demo’d in George’s studio utilizing programmed drums, it was suggested by their friend Allyson Song River Jaynes, that they reach out to her friend, veteran drummer Chris Moore of Ultraphonix, Rock Of Ages, to see if he would be interested in working with the project. Upon hearing the strength of songwriting and musicianship of the band, Chris was all in and signed on as the fourth full-time member of STC and now the band was complete.
From day one Greg’s vision for STC was to feature various vocalists for each of the songs who would differentiate the sound and essence of each one, making them individually unique. Guest vocalists for the project have included: Charlie Berezansky (VEXES), Dan Caputo (Negative Sky), Chaka Malik (Orange 9mm, BURN) Jai Messina (Jai Diablo)(DragPipe, Stem), and Greg Christie (ElevenAfter, Nude Groove), and now Marcos Leal (III Nino).
Swim The Current’s sound is influenced and reminiscent of many of their favorite artists including, Deftones, Faith No More, Sevendust, POD, and Stabbing Westward. They continue to write new music and will have additional guest vocalists in their future releases.

LAST IN LINE ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM JERICHO OUT MARCH 31 VIA EARMUSIC
BAND DROPS VIDEO FOR NEW SINGLE GHOST TOWN" — WATCH
LAST IN LINE — frontman Andrew Freeman, bassist Phil Soussan (ex-Ozzy Osbourne), and former Dio comrades-in-arms Vivian Campbell (Def Leppard) and Vinny Appice (ex-Black Sabbath) — and their label earMUSIC announce the release of their third studio album Jericho, out March 31.
Pre-order the album here.
To kick things off, the first track "Ghost Town" was released digitally today. The accompanying music video can be watched here.
"The song for me describes breaking a cycle from different perspectives. On a personal level it could be family, career or life expectations, putting a person in an unwanted or unwelcome space. On a grander scale it addresses government expectations. Non-sensical, unethical ideas and laws that become the norm, while turning a blind eye to larger problems," states Freeman.
Despite the past two years of isolation, this record was produced in the best hard rock tradition with great studio performances of an excellent all-star line-up.
"With Last in Line, just as we did with Dio, we cut the basic tracks live. It's important for us to capture the energy of the syncopation of playing together in real time – much like the energy of a live show. This record represents the best of both worlds: the spirit of an energetic band performance, and the more reflective and nuanced qualities of our individual performances, too," says Campbell.
Last year, Last in Line surprised with a unique version of the Beatles classic "A Day in the Life," which has been released on the Limited 12" Silver Collector's EP with the same name.
In 2023, Last in Line are at the top of their game. On Jericho, Campbell delivers his signature flamboyant guitar playing, Appice and Soussan shake foundations with their unmistakable grooves, and Freeman's vocals are just one of the best of his generation.
The 12 tracks boast big guitar riffs and solos, they're catchy, and full of energy. Appice invites us: "All the musical forces of Last in Line are combined here for a super-powerful new record. Press play and put your seatbelts on!!"

UK METALLERS OCEANS ATE ALASKA RELEASE INSTRUMENTAL VERSION OF DISPARITY
Birmingham, UK metal quintet OCEANS ATE ALASKA — James Harrison [vocals], Chris Turner [drums], James "Jibs" Kennedy [guitar], Adam Zytkiewicz [guitar], and Mike Stanton [bass] — have released an instrumental version of their latest album Disparity, out now via Fearless Records. The instrumental edition is available here.
"For Oceans, the instrumental release was always done out of pure demand," the band explains. "We put a tremendous effort into making the composition as dynamically rich as possible, no aspect of the instrumentation goes without a lot of time, care, and patience put in. When you apply this work ethic, it kinda makes sense that listeners want to hear a version without vocals; that's not to say they don't belong to the music, but the human voice tends to capture our ears before everything else so it's a cool experience to be able to listen to everything that surrounds it.
"With Disparity, our youthful sporadic compositional tendencies have been tempered, but only to give space to our lo-fi progressions, big room energy and fundamental song structure. We are very excited about this instrumental release as it will be a new experience for everyone!"
The band is also doing a 24-hour livestream of all of the visualizers for the instrumental versions. Tune in here.

ABOUT OAA + DISPARITY:
Oceans Ate Alaska have carefully and quietly progressed to this point. Following their 2015 debut Lost Isles, they presented Hikari in 2017. The song "Hansha" amassed over 12 million Spotify streams as the album surpassed 40 million total streams. Upon arrival, New Noise Magazine raved, "Optimistic, empowering, and mesmerizing, Oceans Ate Alaska’s bold sophomore album is a true progressive metalcore triumph." Along the way, they toured with the likes of Wage War, The Plot In You, We Came As Romans, Like Moths to Flames, and more. Throughout 2021, they assembled what would become Disparity. Inspired by a mutual love for the likes of Bonobo and Alina Baraz, collaborator Clem Cherry enhanced the production with airy beat-craft and immersive sonic accents. At the same time, they absorbed the unease of the world, infusing a post-apocalyptic thematic undercurrent. In the end, Oceans Ate Alaska encode an important message inside of Disparity. "For us, it's about uplifting listeners," Harrison says. "We want them to feel empowered to realize they can be the change they want. It's still what we're doing. It's been a long time since we put out an album, but we're here." Indeed it has been a minute since the last OAA album but it was entirely worth the wait.
