UPON A BURNING BODY is currently wrapping up a tour in the UK! Check out a great new show review by Metal Hammer here: http://metalhammer.teamrock.com/reviews/2014-11-24/upon-a-burning-body-live-in-london

“Many may still bemoan UPON A BURNING BODY’s infamous and poorly executed PR stunt, but judging by the crowd in the Underworld tonight – which is impressively busy given a) the backlash that greeted that aforementioned stunt and b) Crossfaith are playing just down the road – people are still willing to let the music do the talking. There’s a sense of excitement in the air that has been sorely lacking across much of the more, for want of a better term, ‘mainstream metal’ scene as of late. Despite their setbacks and however many of those may have been self-inflicted, however, this is still a band very much on the brink of going somewhere big.”

Remaining UK Headliner dates:

11/26 - Academy @ Birmingham

UPON A BURNING BODY’s debut offering, The World Is Ours, caught the metal scene by storm with its crushing Pantera-esque grooves and dynamic riffing and captivating hooks. Then with the success of their sophomore album, Red.White. Green., they continued to march the path of great metal taking the band to new, higher levels. Their live performance is unmatched, which quickly had their name being spread by the masses throughout the scene.

Their highly acclaimed new offering The World Is My Enemy Now was tracked, mixed and mastered with renowned producer Will Putney (For Today, Body Count) at The Machine Shop in NJ. The record debuted at #39 on the Billboard Top 200 in its first week, solidifying the band as a new force to be reckoned with in heavy metal.

With a clear vision for their identity and an immeasurable level of determination, UPON A BURNING BODY are touring full-time throughout the world spreading their message of dedication, self-belief and relentless competitive greatness. Sumerian founder Ash Avildsen commented, UPON A BURNING BODY frontman Danny Leal has one of the most distinguishable and decipherable voices I have heard in years. With the perfect soundtrack of riffs and beats backing him and an explosive live show, there is no question what the very near future will hold for this band.”

New York, NY --- Gothenburg, Sweden's Engel and Gain Music Entertainment have announce the North American release of RAVEN KINGS on January 27, 2015 via MRI / Sony RED.  This is the band's fourth album, produced by founder and songwriter, In Flames' Niclas Engelin.  To capture something incredible, you need to have a team enlisted to execute the vision, and Engel called upon the talents of close friends and colleagues Jocke Skog (Clawfinger) for the monstrous guitar sound design, Jacob Hermann (Top Floor Studios) for recording the Hammer of the Gods, Jacob Hansen (Hansen Studios) for mastering the Wall of Sound, and Joachim Luetke (Luetke.com) for crafting this Sinister Vision.  Revolver has premiered the lead track "Salvation" which can be streamed here: http://www.revolvermag.com/?p=68445

Guitarist Marcus Sunesson adds, "Raven Kings will bring you Salvation. The ultimate album in a perfect storm." Platinum Texas rockers DROWNING POOL have been touring in support of their breakout platinum album Sinner, which was reissued last week in 2-disc deluxe edition format via The Bicycle Music Company/Concord. On their way through the great state of Nevada, the band stopped at Nellis Air Force Base in the Mojave Wasteland. A great time was had by all as the band hosted a huge meet & greet, honoring our active military and veterans!

In a band statement, DROWNING POOL says, “It's always a pleasure for us to have the opportunity to support our troops. We've been fortunate this year on our Sinner “Unlucky 13th Anniversary” tour to hit a few bases across the county. Our recent visit to Nellis Air Force Base has definitely been one of the highlights. Such a great group of people that organized the visit, and like always, it was such an honor for us to sign and take pictures in support of our air man and their families. We appreciate the organizers at Nellis AFB for giving us the full tour! Besides our meet & greet/signing, we had the amazing opportunity to watch the Thunderbirds air show. Amazing! Insanely talented pilots. We look forward to future base visits and our continued support of our troops.”

Lt. Jonathon Lee and Sgt. Anthony Caldwell commented on the visit before the band arrived, stating, “I think it's awesome of them to help us out and show their support for the military, and I can't wait to meet them, I think they are stand up guys.” Caldwell also adds, “I'm here to see DROWNING POOL and I think it's amazing that they are out here at Nellis AFB, pretty cool that they are supporting the troops.”

See below for some great photos from DROWNING POOL’s Nellis Air Force Base visit!

Asking Alexandria Live From Brixton and Beyond DVD cover art.

ASKING ALEXANDRIA--the riotous, genre-bending U.K.-based rock group that Alternative Press says “blurs the lines between solipsism and sociopathy, hedonism and nihilism, even as it throws metalcore, electronic music and a healthy dose of hair metal into a blender set on ‘awesome’”--have announced LIVE FROM BRIXTON AND BEYOND--a 2-Disc live concert DVD--to be released December 15 via Sumerian Records.

“At long last, we are FINALLY releasing our first ever DVD,” says guitarist BEN BRUCE. “We have been promising this DVD for a long time now, but trust me when I say it was worth the wait. There is so much unseen footage on this release including our sold-out show at Brixton in London, our reckless Halloween concert in Hollywood, intimate behind the scenes footage, the ‘Through Sin and Self Destruction’ short film and every music video we have ever recorded. It's been a long time in the making but we hope you enjoy every second of this. Thank you all so much for your love and support over the years and welcome to the family.”

The LIVE FROM BRIXTON AND BEYOND 2-disc DVD features: 1) the full live set from ASKING ALEXANDRIA’s sold-out Brixton 02 Academy show in London, England; 2) behind the scenes and backstage footage from the Brixton 02 Academy show; 3) the unseen “Reckless Halloween” performance at The Wiltern in Los Angeles; and 4) all of the group’s music videos and the “Through Sin and Self-Destruction” short film (see full tracklisting below). Watch the LIVE FROM BRIXTON AND BEYOND trailer (HERE) and pre-order the set (HERE).

ASKING ALEXANDRIA has released three albums, including their current album FROM DEATH TO DESTINY and has toured the world-over. Produced by Joey Sturgis and mixed by veteran rock radio kingmaker David Bendeth (Breaking Benjamin, Paramore, Of Mice & Men), FROM DEATH TO DESTINY fully embraces the high-flying sonic excess of Mötley Crüe, the dark electro of the pre-EDM era and the audio growl of the harder-edged bands they discovered as teenagers. The album debuted at #5 on the Billboard Top 200 albums chart and #1 on the Independent Albums Chart in the U.S. and has launched three consecutive Top 20 Active Rock singles to date: “The Death of Me,” “Break Down the Walls” and current single “Moving On.” Just this week, “Moving On” hit the Top 15  making it the band’s highest charting single to date. The “Moving On” video has received over 2 million views and can be viewed (HERE).

Now in the midst of a headlining tour spanning Europe, the U.K. and Russia, the U.K.-based rock band will circle back to North America for a tour starting Nov. 28 in Tucson, AZ and wrapping Dec. 20 in Wilmington, NC (dates below).

ASKING ALEXANDRIA--DANNY WORSNOP (lead vocals), BEN BRUCE (lead guitars), CAMERON LIDDELL (guitars), SAM BETTLEY (bass) and JAMES CASSELLS (drums)--represent everything exciting and altogether invigorating about the hardest hitting rock n’ roll, both past and present. The group incorporates the modern hard rock sensibilities with the celebratory melodic spirit of the giant hooks of the ‘80s, the expert songwriting of the ‘90s and the unashamedly aggressive brutality of modern Millennium bravado. The electro-tinged and always unhinged miscreants have arrived armed with musical weapons owing as much to Skid Row and Guns N’ Roses as Korn and Killswitch Engage. After spending all summer on the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival with Avenged Sevenfold, Korn, Body Count (featuring Ice-T), Cannibal Corpse, Trivium, Miss May I, Mushroomhead, Suicide Silence and many more), the stage has been set both literally and figuratively for an even larger commercial breakthrough.

The tour and return of Greg Chaisson proves to be as exciting for the band as to their fans.   A return to form that will showcase this new revitalized line-up.

Greg Chaisson originally filled in for Ron Mancuso in March at a Tempe, Arizona concert.  In August, Greg Chaisson joined Red Dragon Cartel as Ron Mancuso returned to his production career.   Jake E. Lee is best known for his work in Badlands and as guitarist for Ozzy Osbourne on Bark at the Moon and The Ultimate Sin albums. Red Dragon Cartel also features various guest appearances from some of music’s most notable faces including legendary Cheap Trick vocalist Robin Zander, original Iron Maiden vocalist Paul Di’Anno, Kill Devil Hill/Pantera bassist Rex Brown, Slash’s Conspirators Todd Kearns and Brent Fitz and In This Moment front woman Maria Brink. The album was produced by Ronnie Mancuso and Jake E. Lee and was executive produced, mixed and mastered by Kevin Churko (In This Moment, Ozzy Osbourne, Five Finger Death Punch).

RED DRAGON CARTEL's self-titled debut album sold around 5,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 69 on The Billboard 200 chart. Released on January 28 via Frontiers Records Srl, the CD was recorded at Las Vegas' The Hideout Recording Studio — owned and operated by Kevin Churko (OZZY OSBOURNE, FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, IN THIS MOMENT) — and was produced by R. CORROSION OF CONFORMITY To Kick Off Gwar Eternal North American Tour 2014!

North Carolina crossover icons, CORROSION OF CONFORMITY, will kick off a near month-long run of live tirades with Gwar tomorrow to finalize the year. Set to embark at the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver, British Columbia, the band will crumble the stages of twenty-six venues, coming to a close on December 13th at Baltimore Soundstage in Baltimore, Maryland.

CORROSION OF CONFORMITY continues to tour in support of their mammoth IX full-length released this past Summer via Candlelight Records. Dubbed "a triumph" by the Obelisk, the critically adored IX was captured by the band alongside longtime friend and colleague John Custer. Clocking in at nearly forty-five minutes, the record boasts all the groove-laden sludge/doom/punk concoction fans have come to expect from CORROSION OF CONFORMITY. The Onion's A.V. Club champions the band's "...smoke-wreathed grooves and sludgy rushes of belligerence," furthering that, "the album is a meat-and-potatoes feast," while Rock Revolt notes,"...this album contains the vital elements to satisfy the most fervid CORROSION OF CONFORMITY fan." Decibel Magazine agrees elaborating that, "COC stick to the recipe that served them well on both 2012's self-titled reboot and the follow-up EP, Megalodon: A little hardcore, a little crossover, a whole lotta Southern rock and (especially) doom metal, all stirred, shuffled, layered and frosted in ways that make guessing their next move impossible. But the band's strategies are more expansive this time out, their tricks more finely woven into the fabric of each song." Adds Blabbermouth, in an 8/10 rating, "COC are closer to their Animosity and (to some measures) Eye For An Eye roots than they've been in ages. Certainly IX is one of the loudest albums ever put down in this unit, so consider earplugs if you catch COC live."

"CORROSION OF CONFORMITY have released some outstanding albums over the years, from Animosity in the '80s to Wiseblood in the '90s to In The Arms Of God in the '00s. IX is their best of the '10s so far, a step above their 2012 self-titled album as they seem more comfortable now as a trio." - Loudwire

"With IX, Weatherman, Dean and Mullin prove that their version of COC is capable of making a Southern hard-rock album to rival any in their own catalog..." - Indy Week

"...not only does IX deliver what we hoped for, but they surpass that with an unwavering confidence - the sparks are flying on this one." - The Sludgelord

Today marks the release of SCOTT IAN’s live comedy/spoken word DVD Swearing Words in Glasgow, in stores now via Megaforce Records! Get your copy today via Amazon or iTunes – just in time for the holiday season.

In celebration of today’s release, Bloody-Disgusting.com has the final clip premiere from the DVD, this time featuring a clip about diehard heavy metal fans who happen to be a bit… gross. Check out the clip here: http://bloody-disgusting.com/news/3321144/scott-ian-swearing-words-glasgow-clip-premiere-exclusive/

SCOTT IAN states, “I thought this day would never come! My talking show is finally out for all to see! I guarantee that this show will make you laugh. Guarantee! Who does that? Also, here's a new drinking game; invite your friends and have a sip every time I swear. No driving after! Have fun!”

Swearing Words in Glasgow was filmed during the first leg of SCOTT IAN’s tour in Glasgow, Scotland, Swearing Words in Glasgow is an honest look at the insane life that Scott has led for the last 31 years, the people he’s met, and the events that coincide.

After decades-worth of international touring with Anthrax, bumping elbows with illustrious (and sometimes ridiculous) characters all over the media spectrum, and undergoing general “you won’t believe this” experiences— SCOTT IAN certainly had some hilarious and surprisingly personal stories to share. Watch Scott recount them all on the Swearing Words in Glasgow DVD.

DJ Snake & Lil Jon’s “Turn Down For What” is undoubtedly the biggest club track of the past year – so when it came time to transform the hit into an even heavier anthem while retaining the spark of the original track, Texas metal scene-leaders UPON A BURNING BODY charged the plate with the help of the one and only OG, Ice-T. Portraying a banger that only Ice-T and the UABB boys could throw, the official music video presented by Spencer’s Gifts features endless drinks from UABB sponsor COLDCOCK Whiskey, gorgeous dancers, and much more that fans can witness in full on Monday during the full video premiere!

“It was amazing doing a video with Ice-T,” states UABB’s Danny Leal. “He is such an inspiration. To be able to have him in a UABB video is a true honor. We hope everyone enjoys and parties to our remake of “Turn Down For What”.”

More about UABB:

Premieres 2nd Official  Music Video,“Fire and Ice”

Line Up Includes Vocalist Joe Lynn Turner;

Drummer Carmine Appice; Bassist Tony Franklin

and Guitarist Karl Cochran.

Frontiers Music Srl, the label known for embracing new music from legendary Rock artists, returns with yet another impactful band: RATED X. The self-titled debut album features songs built upon a classic Hard Rock foundation, with a distinctly contemporary edge. The album can be purchased via Amazon: http://geni.us/RatedXAMZ or iTunes: http://geni.us/RatedXiTunes

The band has shot and released its 2nd official music video, this time for the song “Fire and Ice”, one of the album’s most powerful tracks.  A straight performance clip, the edgy black and white video focuses on the band’s musicianship and Turner’s soaring vocals. View the video for “ Fire and Ice” here:  http://youtu.be/HLtxuXhdluE

RATED X was formed at the suggestion of Frontiers’ President Serafino Perugino, who mentioned to singer Joe Lynn Turner that a band of the highest caliber musicians should be assembled to create an album of classic Hard Rock music.  Turner, the former lead vocalist for both Rainbow and Deep Purple and a solo artist in his own right, agreed, and the search for the right players was on. Carmine Appice, who already had a relationship with Frontiers, was on board immediately.  A true percussion icon, Appice’s resume is one that Rock legends are made of: Vanilla Fudge, Cactus, Ozzy Osbourne, Rod Stewart, Blue Murder, King Kobra and others.

Appice’s former Blue Murder bandmate and bassist, Tony Franklin (also known for his work with The Firm, Jimmy Page, Paul Rodgers, David Gilmour, Kate Bush, and Whitesnake), signed up next. After a lengthy search for the right guitarist, they settled on long-time Turner collaborator Karl Cochran, who has also worked with Ace Frehley, and worked in the past with Joe Lynn Turner on his solo albums.

The self-titled debut album is remarkable in that it sounds like a band that has worked together as a unit for years. The songs are powerful and the performances are tight and innovative.  Frontiers in-house producer, Alessandro del Vecchio, not only handled studio production but added keyboards on several tracks. Pat Regan (Mr Big, Deep Purple, Gotthard, Kiss, Doro) mixed the album.

Critics are already heaping praise on the release, including Powerplay, who said “Rated X are a real treat; seen through the prism of history, we are bound to add all sorts of references, but this doesn’t wallow in them, it exults. The petition for a continuation starts here…”. Hard Rock Haven proclaims “If you’re a Rainbow staunch aficionado or an avid Blue Murder fan, you know you can’t miss Rated X anyway, but if you’re just into the contemporary melodic hard rock that has its back-to-roots moments too – be sure to include it on your list of must-haves.” Melodic Rock declares “Joe Lynn Turner is in devastating form, ripping through 12 energized classic rock tracks drenched in organ and driven by some tough riffing from Karl Cochran. Drummer Carmine Appice and bassist Tony Franklin reunite for the first time since Blue Murder, delivering the precise ear drum shattering rhythm section expected of both journeymen.”

RED FANG have premiered their new video for “Crows In Swine,” the third single off the Portland-based rock group’s critically acclaimed third album WHALES AND LEECHES (Relapse) today, November 12 via Loudwire. Watch the full video for the propulsive rock track and read the Q&A with RED FANG’s guitarist/vocalist BRYAN GILES up now on Loudwire.com (HERE). The “Crows In Swine” video is also up now on RED FANG’s YouTube (HERE).

RED FANG have also announced they’ll join the “Communion of Sirens” tour with Opeth and In Flames this winter. The tour will kick off December 3 in Chicago (dates below). Following the “Communion of Sirens” trek, RED FANG--BRYAN GILES (Guitar/Vocals) AARON BEAM (Bass/Vocals) DAVID SULLIVAN (Guitar) JOHN SHERMAN (Drums)–will work on the follow-up to WHALES AND LEECHES and perform select dates early next year at the Timbrr! Winter Music Festival in Leavenworth, WA on January 10 before headlining Desert Fest in London and Berlin April 23-26.

“I am blown away by the video Adam made for us,” says RED FANG guitarist/vocalist BRYAN GILES.  “It's brutally cute. I wish I was as cool as the character I am in it in real life.  Recliners, sausage, guitars and kittens!!”

For the new animated video, RED FANG was looking to move away from doing the same type of clips they’ve been known for in the past and create something different this time around. For the “Crows In Swine” video, the group teamed with renowned animator Adam Avilla to direct. Adam came up with the barbarian concept and each band member came up with their own secret weapons for the clip.

Released on Relapse Records, RED FANG’s current album WHALES AND LEECHES debuted at #66 on the Billboard Album Chart, marking the group’s highest sales week and first debut in the Top 200. RED FANG are generating worldwide critical acclaim from SPIN, Revolver, Magnet, Alternative Press and more (soundbites below) for their current album WHALES AND LEECHES, which was produced by Chris Funk (Decemberists) and mixed by Vance Powell (White Stripes, Raconteurs, Kings of Leon). Featuring such guests as Mike Scheidt (Yob) and Pall Jenkins (The Black Heart Procession), WHALES AND LEECHES propels RED FANG into the upper stratosphere of the heavy rock and metal elite.

RED FANG’s WHALES AND LEECHES album is available at iTunes (HERE) and Amazon (HERE).

BLACK TUSK Bassist Jonathan Athon Passes Away

"It is with deep regret and saddened hearts that we must tell you that Athon passed away this morning from injuries sustained from his motorcycle accident. Doctors told us that he suffered irreparable brain damage shortly after the accident. He has been in a coma and sustained by life support until now. As per his wishes, we removed Athon from his life support systems and his organs will be donated. His body will be cremated and a memorial is being planned for family and friends in Savannah. He was 32 years old and will be forever missed. Thank you all for your support during this devastating time for us, it would have made him proud."

GUS G. premieres "Long Way Down" video via Revolver Mag.com

OZZY OSBOURNE / FIREWIND guitarist GUS G. released a limited and expanded edition of his debut solo album, I Am The Fire, this week via Century Media Records. To promote this release, a striking new video for the album's single "Long Way Down (Feat. Alexia Rodriguez)" has been shot by acclaimed director and long-time GUS G. creative partner Patric Ullaeus (IN FLAMES, WITHIN TEMPTATION, AT THE GATES, etc.). To watch the video, head over to Revolver Mag.com:

GUS G. has checked in to comment about the video's background and storyline:
"I worked on this track with producer Kevin Churko (OZZY, 5FDP, etc.), his son Kane and Alexia Rodriguez from EYES SET TO KILL. Once we finished it, we knew we had a special song in our hands.
The 'Long Way Down' lyrics were inspired by a scene I witnessed many years ago, when I briefly lived in Sweden. What I saw, is the exact storyline with the girl in this video.
We hear about suicides all the time in the news, it's always shocking. Hundreds of thousands of people deal with depression everyday. They're brave.
If there is one message we'd like to pass out with this song & video, it is that suicide can be prevented. If you need help, or know someone who does, reach out to any organization of the following:
http://www.suicidepreventionlifeline.org  (US)
http://www.suicide.org/international-suicide-hotlines.html (International)
Many thanks to Patric Ullaeus for your belief, your dedication and always awesome videos!"

Additionally, an instructional clip by GUS G. for the instrumental track "Vengeance" has been launched by the Guitar Pro blog. Check it out here: http://blog.guitar-pro.com/2014/11/gus-g-vengeance-guitar-riff/ (English) or here: http://blog.guitar-pro.com/fr/2014/11/gus-g-vengeance-riff-guitare/ (French).

GUS G. handles all guitar, bass and keyboards on I Am The Fire and is joined by a roster of friends and guests that helped bring his vision to fruition: drummers Jeff Friedl (A PERFECT CIRCLE, PUSCIFER, DEVO) and Daniel Erlandsson (ARCH ENEMY), bassists David Ellefson (MEGADETH), Billy Sheehan (MR. BIG, DAVID LEE ROTH) and Marty O'Brien (TOMMY LEE, WE ARE THE FALLEN), and vocalists Mats Leven (CANDLEMASS, ex-YNGWIE MALMSTEEN/THERION), Blake Allison (DEVOUR THE DAY), Michael Starr (STEEL PANTHER), Alexia Rodriguez (EYES SET TO KILL), Tom S. Englund (EVERGREY), Jacob Bunton (ADLER) and Jeff Scott Soto (TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA, ex-JOURNEY). The album showcases a well-balanced mix of active rock, classic hard rock, traditional metal and guitar-driven instrumentals, taking listeners on a diverse journey through GUS G.'s soulful playing.

JOHNNY WORE BLACK Architect Jay Balances Hollywood Stuntman Career with Music

jwb wu2 album cover

“Sometimes one album is so good, it has to be split into two! This is certainly the case with UK artist JOHNNY WORE BLACK…” Hellhound Music

JOHNNY WORE BLACK, the up-and-coming dark rock project featuring frontman / Hollywood-stuntman-by-day Jay and guest musician / co-writer Dave Ellefson (Megadeth), will release a brand new full-length, Walking Underwater Pt. 2, on November 26, 2014 via Dead Cherry. Today, GearGods.net is hosting a brand new playthrough video featuring Dave Ellefson showcasing a bass riff from the new JWB track ‘Firefly’. Check out the video here, (which happens to include a special feline cameo): http://geargods.net/video/exclusive-playthrough-david-ellefson-makes-a-left-turn-away-from-megadeth-with-johnny-wore-black/

Walking Underwater Pt. 2 will be available for pre-order soon! Walking Underwater Pt. 2 is produced by Jay himself, with several tracks mixed by Grammy-award winning producer David Bottrill (Tool, Stone Sour).

Pulling inspiration from his work on the silver screen (having worked as a stuntman in films like Les Miserables, The Dark Knight Rises, Fast and Furious 6 and most recently, Fury with Brad Pitt), JOHNNY WORE BLACK ‘the artist’ has created his own brand of dark, atmospheric musical intrigue.

As mentioned above, Walking Underwater Pt. 2 features the one and only Dave Ellefson of “Big 4” heavy metal titans Megadeth, as well as a few additional guest appearances from Croatian singer Sara Renar, and renowned soul singer Loretta Heywood. Both esteemed artists bring a new level of undeniable credibility and brooding, haunting sounds that Jay bases JOHNNY WORE BLACK on.

Walking Underwater Pt. 2 tracklisting:

1.      Firefly (co-written by Dave Ellefson)

2.      A Cut Above (co-written by Dave Ellefson)

3.      Comfy Slippers (feat. Dave Ellefson on bass)

4.      Fallen Angel (feat. Dave Ellefson on bass)

5.      Gift of Desperation (co-written by Dave Ellefson)

6.      I Do Dissolve (feat. Dave Ellefson on bass)

7.      Noise

8.      Shine On – (feat. Croatian singer Sara Renar)

9.      Whose Children (feat. Dave Ellefson on bass)

10.  Winter in July – (Cover feat. vocals by Loretta Heywood + Loretta Heywood/Bomb The Bass collaboration)

Walking Underwater Pt. 1 was released earlier this year and received excellent reviews. PureGrainAudio.com’s Chris Gonda calls the album an “intensely passionate collection of songs”, while Screamer Magazine stated, “If you wish to purchase an album that doesn’t conform, yet provides a top quality set of textures and shades, then prepare yourself to be quietly impressed.”

This follows the praise of previously released singles ‘All The Rage’ (2011), ‘Up In Flames’ (2012), ‘Noise’ (2012) and ‘Gift of Desperation’ (2013). September 2014 marked the release of the new JOHNNY WORE BLACK single ‘A Cut Above’.

Loretta Heywood – vocals (Winter in July)

“Pared down to a simple sentence, this album is fucking sick,” chimed the first web review for the record, penned by Blabbermouth’s Ray Van Horn, Jr. Shortly after, Decibel Magazine’s Kevin Stewart Panko gave great praise to both returning vocalist Steve “Zetro” Souza and guitarists Gary Holt and Lee Altus, saying tracks on the record feature, “Sousa spitting forth from a venomous thesaurus and some of the most adventurous lead work that Holt and Altus have ever recorded.” The EXODUS rhythm section receives equal praise from About.com Heavy Metal’s Dave Schalek, who states, “[Tom] Hunting shows no signs of slowing down and bassist Jack Gibson anchors down the album’s bottom heavy sound.” “With the return of vocalist Steve "Zetro" Souza, the true follow-up to Tempo of the Damned has finally arrived in the form of Blood In, Blood Out one of the best heavy releases of the year,” adds PunkNews.org.

EXODUS deliver the definite lesson in violence,” adds Rue Morgue’s Aaron Lupton, while Outburn Magazine offered positive remarks in both review and feature form. “A vintage thrash metal voice placed on top of an EXODUS sound again harnessed to perfection by Andy Sneap has resulted in an album that batters the eardrums as effectively as it boils the blood,” remarks Scott Alisoglu. The most recent stellar-rating review comes from New Noise Magazine, in which Brandon Ringo states, Once again, EXODUS has proven exactly why they have attained such a legendary stature over the years and are considered one of the greatest bands in thrash metal even 30 years later!”

ATREYU Sign to Search and Destroy Records as Part of Raw Power Management's Partnership With
Spinefarm Records/Universal

Band Back in Action After Taking Hiatus in 2010

New Album, Their First Since 2009, Due out in 2015

(New York, N.Y.): When ATREYU emerged from their hiatus in 2014, the band was met with fevered excitement from fans and the metal community.

The band played a sold-out-in-minutes warm-up show in its native Orange County, were a featured main stage attraction at both AFTERSHOCK and KNOTFEST, released a new song "So Others May Live" as a free download for fans that immediately propelled ATREYU to trending status on social media, and closed out the year by booking a hometown Christmas show at The Observatory in the O.C.

Now, the band has confirmed even more good news -- its worldwide signing to the Search and Destroy Records imprint as part of the newly-announced joint venture between the label and Raw Power Management and Spinefarm Records.

Atreyu's new album, due out in 2015, will be released through Search and Destroy/Spinefarm.

"We're truly excited for this union," said ATREYU drummer Brandon Saller. "Signing with Spinefarm/Search & Destroy will truly allow us to create without restraint. We are looking forward to the future."

Raw Power's Vice President Matt Ash concurred, saying, "Ray Power is proud to be representing ATREYU for management worldwide and we're very excieted to move forward with the guys in this fresh chapter of their career."

"We are beyond excited to welcome ATREYU to the Spinefarm Records roster," said Spinefarm Director of A&R Darren Dalessio. "As one of the pioneering artists of the metalcore movement, it's very exciting to see this new album take shape. The new music they are crafting is nothing short of incredible, and there is a real passion and fire within the band right now that is undeniable. We couldn't be happier to be a part of this next chapter of ATREYU's already impressive storied career. Expect great things to come in 2015!"

ATREYU, who were one of the key architects of the '00s American metal resurgence, last released an album in 2009 in the form of Congregation of the Damned. While ATREYU simmered on the backburner, the members did other things and flexed different creative muscles during the downtime, but returned to ATREYU earlier this summer.

CORROSION OF CONFORMITY: Reed Mullin And Karl Agell To Perform Blind Album In Its Entirety At Katherine Ludwig Benefit Concert; Practice Footage Posted + Donation Page Launched

Vocalist Karl Agell, who sang on CORROSION OF CONFORMITY's 1991 seminal Blind full-length and founding drummer Reed Mullin will perform the LP in its entirety on Sunday, November 9th at the Lincoln Theatre in Raleigh, North Carolina. The concert is a benefit show for Katherine Ludwig, former editor of long-running heavy metal magazine, Metal Maniacs, who is currently battling non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.

Footage of the band rehearsing for the upcoming performance can be viewed at THIS LOCATION.

Comments Mullin, "I only heard about Katherine's medical problems a month ago, and the minute after, I was on the phone with Karl Agell to see if he'd be into doing a benefit for her. I'm not sure folks today know just how instrumental she was in introducing and exposing your typical 'metal maniac' of the early '90s to so many bad ass bands. A lot of which, like COC, had never been given an audience like that before. We had been in fanzines with circulations of maybe a couple hundred, but Metal Maniacs was thousands and thousands! A great advocate for little known underground metal, as well as hardcore/punk bands, she promoted the Blind album to the point where by the end of the year it was on virtually everyone's top ten metal albums of 1991. I can't overstate how important she was to COC's success. Without her, Blind wouldn't have sold what it did. And after that, I don't think it's a stretch to say there probably would never have been a Deliverance album. Katherine Ludwig is wonderful person and I hope we can give back a little for all the goodness she gave us."

A Facebook page has been launched by Alicia Morgan, who worked as Ludwig's assistant and was editor for several issues of the magazine. Writes Morgan: "[Katherine would] cover bands before they were on the mainstream radar: Sepultura, Voivod, Prong, Kreator, White Zombie, Obituary, Cathedral, Cro-Mags, Neurosis, Eyehategod, Carcass, Corrosion Of Conformity etc. She gave a voice to underground punk/doom and crust bands like the Amebix, Deviated Instinct and Winter. She gave a platform to unsigned bands and 'zines. In her editorials, she wrote about issues that meant something to her. Racism. Sexism. Human rights. Animal rights. Vegetarianism. Homophobia. Even if she got flack about it, she'd soldier on, and call people out... I'm asking you to give Katherine, this leader, this beautiful and strong warrior, donations that will relieve some of the burden to ease costs that go along with all of the guts and glory that go along with chemo, and cancer, and everything and everything that will help as she helped all of you."

Alteras releases their new video "Oh Tragedy"

The dates for the 2015 World’s Loudest Month festival series have been revealed, including the addition of the new Northern Invasion festival outside Minneapolis/St. Paul.

Created by AEG Live, Danny Wimmer Presents and RockHouse Presents, The World's Loudest Month features the biggest names in rock music performing in eight distinct U.S. concert atmospheres in April and May. Last year saw new attendance highs for the World's Loudest Month festivals, with more than 368,000 fans turning out to see over 150 bands perform, proving that the hunger for rock and metal music in America is growing.

In addition to the already established festivals taking place in Florida, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Texas, and Missouri, the World’s Loudest Month creators are proud to introduce the newest addition to the series, Northern Invasion, which will bow as a one day, multi-stage camping festival just outside the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul, MN.

The 2015 World’s Loudest Month festival dates and locations are as follows:

Monster Energy Fort Rock: April 25 in Fort Myers, FL

Monster Energy Welcome To Rockville: April 25 & 26 in Jacksonville, FL

Monster Energy Carolina Rebellion: May 2 & 3 in Concord, NC

Northern Invasion: May 9 in Somerset, WI

Rock On The Range: May 15, 16 & 17 in Columbus, OH

Rocklahoma: May 22, 23 & 24 in Pryor, OK

River City Rockfest: May 24 in San Antonio, TX

RockFest: May 30 in Kansas City, MO

“With each passing year we continue to work hard to bring something special to the rock fans around the country and to make it easy and convenient for them to attend our events,” comments Joe Litvag, co-executive producer of the WLM series for AEG Live.  “That was the reason behind starting Northern Invasion in the upper Midwest.  There is such a tremendous community of rock fans in places like Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, North and South Dakota, and nothing was all that convenient for them.  So, we thought, ‘Why not bring them a rock festival that they can call their own?’”

“After selling over 360,000 tickets last year for World’s Loudest Month we are constantly looking for great cities and strong markets to add to the family of festivals associated with WLM.  Minneapolis has an incredible rock radio station and it’s only fitting that we bring Northern Invasion to the region as our newest destination to the World’s Loudest Month,” says  Danny Wimmer, co-executive producer of the WLM series for DWP.

Here are additional details about each World’s Loudest Month festival:

More than 30 years after the US Festival’s seminal heavy metal day shook the grounds where San Manuel Amphitheater now stands, Slipknot’s KNOTFEST--the most cutting edge heavy music festival in America--burned a new chapter into the heavy metal history books. The San Manuel Amphitheater & Campgrounds in San Bernardino, California hosted more than 50,000 fans during the October 24-26 destination music festival. At the same time, heavy music fans around the world tuned in to the free KNOTFEST simulcast of band performances, which logged nearly five million impressions.

The Vixlet-sponsored GTV simulcast included Slipknot’s two full performances, as well as select songs from most of the bands performing at the festival. Saturday and Sunday were each highlighted by Slipknot’s unique closing sets on Stage 001, featuring brand new music from their #1 album .5: The Gray Chapter--the fifth studio album from the GRAMMY®-winning group--and an entirely new stage set and experience. The album was released globally in the week leading up to the fest, and has made a stunning impact, with #1 debuts in the U.S., Japan, Australia, Canada, Russia and Switzerland as well as Top 5 debuts in the United Kingdom, Germany, Ireland, Austria, New Zealand, Mexico, Denmark and Finland.

KNOTFEST U.S.--powered by Rockstar Energy Drink--featured a massive lineup of over 50 bands playing on five stages on Saturday and Sunday. Slipknot was joined by some of the biggest names in metal, including Danzig, Five Finger Death Punch, Volbeat, Of Mice & Men, Anthrax, Black Label Society, In This Moment, Killswitch Engage, Of Mice & Men, Testament, Fear Factory, Hatebreed, Napalm Death, Atreyu, Hellyeah, and dozens more.

The festival was an epic experience for Maggots and metalheads even apart from the five stages of earsplitting music, with the Slipknot-curated Slipknot Museum, the Fire Zone, Ring Of Fire carnival ride, Thunderdome, Fitz Army Freestyle Motocross Show, Junk Car Drum Circle, and more.

In addition, Friday night’s VIP Pre-Party Bash featured exclusive performances from Suicide Silence, The Black Dahlia Murder, Butcher Babies and more for those that purchased VIP or Camping Packages.

Based on the overwhelming success of KNOTFEST U.S. 2014, discussions are underway for a possible return to Southern California in 2015--but first, Slipknot will bring KNOTFEST to Tokyo, Japan November 15 and 16, 2014.

KNOTFEST U.S. received rave reviews from the media.

Here are some early press comments:

"Imagine if the devil had a carnival fun house that shot out plumes of fire and had a crazy light show in a rainbow of colors…"

--Vanessa Franko, Press Enterprise, October 26, 2014

“…a mere glance at the crowd suggests that they've shattered attendance records for this place...Slipknot owned it tonight, untouchable in every respect.”

--Mörat, Metal Hammer, October 27, 2014

“The heavy tunes from bands such as Anthrax and Danzig rang through the hills of Glen Helen Regional Park on Saturday, a location that is sacred ground for those about to rock. The park was the home of the Us Festival's seminal heavy metal day in 1983 with rockers such as Judas Priest and Ozzy Osbourne. And Osbourne returned to the site to give birth to his touring metal circus Ozzfest in 1996.”

--Vanessa Franko, Press Enterprise, October 25, 2014

“…fans traveled from far and wide to get to the festival…”

                                    ---Leticia Juarez, KABC-TV, October 24, 2014

Slipknot fans got their money’s worth over the weekend with a pair of headlining sets at the band’s Knotfest Festival in San Bernardino, Calif.”

                                    --Chad Childers, Loudwire.com, October 27, 2014

“…an estimated 50,000 metalheads, campers and revelers flocked to the San Manuel Amphitheater in Devore for Knotfest -- three days of camping and a dark carnival/heavy-metal music festival curated by Slipknot...For three days, fans explored dark art, fire, carnival rides, roller coasters music, and more…Slipknot put the time and effort into making this much more than a multi stage concert.”

--Alex Distefano, OC Weekly, October 28, 2014

Presented By Orange Amplification

Hosted by UK-based Classic Rock magazine, the 10th annual Classic Rock Awards--the Classic Rock Roll Of Honour presented by Orange Amplification--announced today a stellar line-up of live performances from some of the most exciting and respected artists in rock: Kings Of Chaos, California Breed, Rival Sons and Scott Weiland & The Wildabouts.

This star-studded list of performers will be joining an already announced list of rock icons to be on-hand at the all-star event on November 4 at the Avalon in Hollywood, CA including: Sammy Hagar (this year’s host), Gregg Allman (this year’s Living Legend Award recipient) and guitarist Robby Krieger and drummer John Densmore of The Doors (this year’s Inspiration Award recipient), and many more.

Kings Of Chaos, the part-time, all-star rock’n’roll collective, are one of the most exciting live bands in rock for two distinct reasons: 1. The a-list revolving door of guest performers; and 2. The bands core line-up of Guns N' Roses’ Duff McKagan, Matt Sorum and Gilby Clarke alongside guitar aficionado, Extreme’s Nuno Bettencourt. It's a combination that brings anticipation and killer live performances in abundance.

For this intimate live performance, Kings of Chaos will be joined on stage by Sammy Hagar, the evening's host and frontman of Van Halen, Montrose and Chickenfoot; former Deep Purple and current California Breed frontman Glenn Hughes; and more rock royalty, Def Leppard’s Joe Elliott and Phil Collen; and one of the most recognizable and important figures in rock, Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top).

As well as performing with the aforementioned Kings of Chaos, Glenn Hughes will also be playing a stripped-back set with his current band California Breed, with 23-year-old newcomer guitarist-singer-songwriter Andrew Watt.

Rival Sons have seen a meteoric rise in international recognition since their inception in 2009. Playing to thousands in sell-out shows around the world, this will be a unique performance in front of hundreds of their peers.

Scott Weiland, notorious frontman of Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver, brings his new band, Scott Weiland & The Wildabouts, to perform their acclaimed live show to this star-studded audience.

Classic Rock editor Siân Llewellyn says: "Playing live is the lifeblood of rock'n'roll and there are few things as thrilling as watching a rock show. On November 4th we'll be privileged to witness four unique performances from some of the very best in the business."

The Classic Rock Roll Of Honour awards will air on AXS TV in December (exact date TBA).

Voting for the listener and fan-voted categories just closed and winners will be announced at the awards. For the full list of nominees for this year’s listener and fan-voted categories, click here.

For one night only, Classic Rock magazine plays host to some of the world’s most renowned rock legends. This exclusive evening welcomes some 400 artists, industry figureheads and VIPs with a champagne reception and a three-course dinner, followed by the presentation of the awards themselves. The evening culminates with a live performance.

Reflecting the explosive growth of the Classic Rock brand, the event has grown from humble beginnings to become one of the rare ‘must-dos’ on the rock calendar. It has consistently attracted A-List guests, including Black Sabbath, Jimmy Page, Alice Cooper, Slash, Rush, ZZ Top, Jeff Beck, Brian May, The Who, Gene Simmons, Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Rob Halford and Paul Stanley, among many others, as well as live performances from Jeff Beck with special guests, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Rival Sons and Zakk Wylde.

This really is the ultimate in rock‘n’roll awards, and as such will be broadcast in the U.S. on radio exclusively through KMG Networks, a division of Krantz Media Group, it’s national programming partner VH1 Radio, producer of On Tap with Nik Carter, VH1 Classic Rock Prep and VH1 Rock Prep, and KMG's advertising sales partner Adlarge Media. In the U.K. it will be broadcast on TeamRock Radio. Check out highlights from past Classic Rock Awards here: http://bit.ly/1qVqXoT.

Orange Amplification returns for a fifth year as a major partner in presenting the Classic Rock Roll Of Honour. Joining them are new sponsors MixRadio, official hotel partners the Sunset Marquis HotelRestaurant • Spa, Universal Music Group and Sammy's Beach Bar Rum.

COLDCOCK WHISKEY Issues Statement in Light of “Propylene Glycol” Controversy –

Active Bands Agree - COLDCOCK Whiskey is Preferred Because of Its Pure Ingredients – Aged Bourbon and Herbs!

COLDCOCK American Herbal Flavored Whiskey has issued a statement in light of the recent controversy over the chemical Propylene glycol being used in certain popular liquor products. Propylene glycol can be found in products ranging from the liquid in electronic cigarettes, to de-icing fluid (antifreeze), to oral medications. Since this recent surge in press coverage on the topic, the question comes to mind, “Does my favorite drink contain Propylene glycol?”

The COLDCOCK Whiskey family would like to urge and promise its fans and consumers that the brand does not contain Propylene glycol. COLDCOCK Whiskey is derived from natural herbs, and in addition, contains less sugar than most whiskies on the market. COLDCOCK’s main ingredients include aged American bourbon blended with green tea, hibiscus, ginger, eucalyptus, cinnamon and gingko – definitely NO Propylene glycol! On top of that, bands love it because it has zero burn and doesn’t slow them down on the road.

“When we decided to develop a unique shot brand and partner with our friends in the music industry, we wanted to be totally transparent about the business and also the product. Americans, just like Europeans care about what they consume, but don't always get the quality they deserve. COLDCOCK is made with aged American bourbon and meaningful herbs that we specifically chose based on their quality and taste. Once we had the list of 15 choice herbs, we made sure to blend them and not add unnecessary amounts of sugar to make it a cheaper wholesale product. The result is a superior flavored whiskey and we're proud of everything about it. TAKE YOUR SHOT!” - Rick and Sarah Zeiler, Founders of COLDCOCK American Herbal Flavored Whiskey

COLDCOCK Whiskey is touted by countless bands and artists and famous personalitites such as: Datsik, Pepper, The Expendables, Eyes Set to Kill, Sevendust, Attila, Drowning Pool, Upon a Burning Body, Texas Hippie Coalition, Mushroomhead, Nonpoint, All That Remains, Jamey Jasta of Hatebreed, Sam Bettley of Asking Alexandria, Dan Jacobs of Atreyu, Big B, Terravita, Smile Empty Soul, The Supervillains, The Vegabonds, We Came As Romans, Bobaflex, Warner Drive, Beebs and Her Money Makers, Fatally Yours, Blue Felix, Comedian Don Jamieson, Tattoo Artists Steve Soto and Paul Booth, Graffiti Artist RISK, and many more.

"Babylonian Pandemonium" on Metal Injection

New Pandemonium Album Out November 4th on Napalm Records

No one can delude Max and Igor Cavalera anymore. The two SEPULTURA founders show with CAVALERA CONSPIRACY what it means to shoot Thrash and Death Metal straight into the world. They will do this with their new studio album Pandemonium which will be released on November 3rd in the UK & November 4th US/CAN via Napalm Records.  Pandemonium can be pre-ordered on Amazon, the Napalm Records Webstore and iTunes

This record truly show shows that fatigue is a foreign word to the CAVALERA brothers.  Front man Max CAVALERA rushes with bellow of rage into the fray, lets his brother drum coarsest grooves and puts his finger into the open wound.  This is put on display even further in the band's new video for the song "Babylonian Pandemonium".  Today the video receives its exclusive premiere courtesy of Metal Injection.  Check out the video for this brutal "Thrashterpiece" HERE.

SYLOSIS – Guitar Tutorial for New Track
Mercy Released

SYLOSIS recently revealed the first track from their forthcoming album Dormant Heart, titled Mercy. Front man Josh has since recorded a tutorial of the track for us and that clip is now up on his YouTube channel where he hosts a variety of other guitar tutorials: http://youtu.be/3SOtk1fhUZ4

Dormant Heart is set to be released in January 2015 via Nuclear Blast. Watch the official video for 'Mercy' here: http://youtu.be/EXPQR22UwO0

Commenting on the track front man Josh states: "Mercy is the first single off the new album. It's got a pretty dark and heavy vibe to it but it's one of the most melodic tracks on the album at the same time. It's got a big slow, doomy outro with an octave pedal on the guitars so that's going to rumble some guts live. For this video, we wanted to keep it dark and claustrophobic. It's got some of the artwork from the album and inlay illustrated as well which came together really well."

The band have also revealed the artwork for
Dormant Heart. The artwork was created by Bristol based artist BONFIRE (OPETH, SATYRICON, KATAONIA),
who has previously designed some t-shirts for the band. On the theme of the artwork, Josh comments: "The cover relates to sacrifice (the sacrificial lamb is more of a symbol than
something to be taken literally) but also the looming, oppressing figure in the background represents corruption and being forced into something against your will."

Pre-orders for the new album are now live: http://bit.ly/1o2ZvEP

Speaking about the album front man Josh states: “It's the most pissed-off, aggressive and intense album we've done, yet it still retains the epic, progressive and melodic side we're also known for. It's a very gloomy and atmospheric album. We've been through a lot as a band and individuals and we've made our darkest album to date.

“The title refers to people going through life on autopilot and being one of the herd, how a lot of people simply accept the way things are just because
it's 'tradition' as opposed to taking a good look at the world around you and thinking for yourself. Sometimes there are catalysts that happen and change our perspective or consciousness.”

The album was produced by Middleton with the help of engineer Scott Atkins and was mastered by TesseracT guitarist Acle Kahney.

SYLOSIS began tracking the new album back in March 2014, working away secretly alongside touring commitments. Drum tracks were recorded in May at Monkey Puzzle Studios by original drummer Rob Callard, who parted ways with the band last month due to time restraints. After filling in for some live shows during SYLOSIS’ Spring 2014 tour, BLEED FROM WITHIN’s drummer Ali Richardson is now a permanent member of the band.

EXHUMED released their globally revered Necrocracy full-length via Relapse Records last Summer. Monopolizing 2013 year end lists both stateside and abroad, the record came in at #24 on Decibel's Top 40 list and #11 on the New Noise's Top 100 Metal & Rock Albums of 2013. Crowned one of 2013's "best death/goregrind releases," by About.com, and, "the feel-good gore-grind album of the year," by Orlando Weekly, Necrocracy is a grade A, head crusher and among the band's most well-executed, conceptually absorbing recording of their winding catalog and repugnance.

To order your copy of Necrocracy, point your browser to THIS LOCATION. The record is also available via iTunes HERE. And if you missed it, peep the visuals for "Coins Upon The Eyes" HERE.

"Matt Harvey and his merry maniacs know exactly what they're doing, and have spent 20-odd years perfecting their poisonous formula. The riffs still bludgeon, the snare still snaps, and the dual vocal assault still growls and yelps with the best of them. The wailing solos and brilliant flashes of melodic death metal perfection are a welcome addition, as is their maturing approach to songwriting." - Pitchfork

"The album seethes with vitriol, visceral shredding and thunderous grooves and it yields not a dull moment across its 29 minutes..." - Outburn

"This is death metal the way it should be, but hardly is anymore: complex but still compact, well-played without being wanky, brutal without going to ridiculous extremes, and listenable, if not inviting, in spite of its inherent ghastliness. Necrocracy kills, plain and simple." - Metal Insider

Father/Son Grindcore Band Releases “Forgive But Avenge” EP Next Tuesday, October 28th

Vomit Fist - Vürdoth by Chris Carlone

VOMIT FIST’s recently released debut digital EP, Forgive But Avenge, will be made available in hard copy CD format via independent release on October 28, 2014. Today, Guitar World Magazine has the exclusive on the band’s “Broken” playthrough video and tabs! Check out guitarist Nick Didkovsky’s video and tabs via GuitarWorld.com here: http://www.guitarworld.com/vomit-fist-broken-playthrough-video-and-tabs-exclusive

In the GuitarWorld.com post, Didkovsky comments on several bits of the song, finally stating, “Even though VOMIT FIST plays this track fast and loud with a high gain guitar tone, the material works in a variety of tempos and would probably sound great on acoustic guitar.”

VOMIT FIST has been all over the gear-sphere lately – GearGods.net recently posted a piece-by-piece video highlighting guitarist Nick Didkovsky’s performance rig! Take a look at the video and get your gear-head on: http://geargods.net/rigged/rigged-vomit-fist-guitarist-nick-vurdoth-didkovsky/

Also, make sure to check out Nick Didkovsky’s Black Sabbath guitar tutorials with millions of views here, www.didkovsky.com/tabs, and watch a live performance video for the band’s recent UCB Theatre performance here: http://youtu.be/y13ssr2ddaw

Finally, watch the band’s 48-second-long music video for “Under The Rind” via The Village Voice here: http://blogs.villagevoice.com/music/2014/09/vomit_fist_under_the_rind_video_premiere.php

Featuring raw, in-your-face sonics, the band’s new EP, Forgive But Avenge, was recorded and engineered at Nik Chinboukas at Spin Studios (studio credits include Lamb of God, Testament and Gojira).  The tracks rip through themes of rebirth, apocalyptic chaos, ecstatic dermal auto-excoriation, and transgressive ancient tantric poetry.

Last year, 17-year-old metal drummer Leo “Lurkrot” Didkovsky proposed the idea of forming a blackened-grindcore band with his guitarist/composer father, Nick “Vürdoth” Didkovsky. With the later addition of fellow 18-year-old family friend and vocalist Malcolm “Skrag the Screecher” Hoyt, this connection birthed the ultra-high energy project VOMIT FIST, hailing from the depths of New York City.

Each member of VOMIT FIST pulls influence from a rich musical background. Guitarist and composer Nick Didkovsky founded the avant-rock band Doctor Nerve in 1983, the metal band Häßliche Luftmasken in 2010, and was a member of the Fred Frith Guitar Quartet during its tenure. In addition, he has composed for a number of ensembles including Bang On A Can, ETHEL, and Meridian Arts Ensemble, and his Black Sabbath guitar lessons on YouTube have reached millions of viewers. Nick’s son Leo Didkovsky founded the death metal band Diabolicus, which released two records in its lifetime. Meanwhile, Singer Malcolm Hoyt is founding member of art punk band Adela and the Ucars, and is also active with Space Ass and Mucus (all bands Leo was a member of, as well), although the band collectively describes Skrag as having “crawled forth from the bleeding plasma bowels of a dying star 4.5 billion years ago”. Hey, we all come from somewhere.

Metal Grasshopper: Weekly Series Starring Down's Philip H. Anselmo And Comedian Dave Hill Continues;
Episode 2 Now Playing At Metal Injection

In Metal Grasshopper episode 2, metal icon Philip H. Anselmo schools young grasshopper Dave Hill on headbanging, heavy metal vocals, and the most extreme of all breakfast cereals. Oh, and Hill takes a phone message for Anselmo from King Diamond, which is awesome.

Get schooled with "The Awakening" now playing at Metal Injection at THIS LOCATION.

And if you missed it, peep episode one, "Origins," HERE.

Metal Grasshopper is a new web series in which comedian/NPR darling Dave Hill travels to the wilds of Louisiana to get schooled in the ways of heavy metal by legendary frontman Philip H. Anselmo (Down, Pantera, Superjoint Ritual, Philip H. Anselmo And The Illegals, et al). Conceived by Hill, Anselmo, and writer/director Chris Lee during a torchlit ceremony in the goddamn woods seriously late at night, Metal Grasshopperbegins with Hill showing up unannounced at Anselmo's secret compound somewhere in the sticks outside of New Orleans to learn directly from the master. Anselmo isn't exactly crazy about the idea at first, but after Hill eventually proves he's not messing around, Anselmo reluctantly agrees to take Hill under his heavily tattooed wing, share his unholy wisdom, and let Hill crash in one of the upstairs guest rooms.

Las Vegas, NV --- Five Finger Death Punch co-founder and drummer Jeremy Spencer and publisher HarperCollins are celebrating top ten sales on the N.Y. Times Celebrities Best Sellers list for DEATH PUNCH'D, Surviving Five Finger Death Punch's Metal Mayhem.   Released in September, the autobiography has seen robust sales since it hit bookstores across The U.S.  Spencer joins Billy Crystal, Tina Fey, Graham Nash, and others on the esteemed chart, and offers, "I’ve received dozens of messages sharing how my story has inspired others to seek help or stay clean. Had it even been just one person who was affected positively, that would have been reason enough to write it.  Believe me, the last thing I ever thought was that I would be a best-selling author.  I’m humbled and truly grateful.”

In DEATH PUNCH'D, Surviving Five Finger Death Punch's Metal Mayhem, Spencer's personal journey through the wild highs and terrifying lows of the rock 'n' roll lifestyle is told with candor, redemption and enlightenment.  The first-time author offers a wry and rollicking tale of music, addiction and recovery, revealing the path that served as a catalyst to make him the man he is today.  In front of the release, he shared, "The day I left treatment for alcohol and drug addiction, I decided to write my story.  I was feeling raw and exposed and hoped just 'getting it all out' would be therapeutic.  And, it was.  Sitting on a tour bus with little to do, I found myself writing two or three thousand words a day.  It didn’t occur to me until I’d written fifty or sixty thousand that my story might be helpful to others who need encouragement in pursuing their dreams and for those struggling with addiction.  I sent that first draft to my dad who said, 'No parent wants to read about his son’s sex, drugs and Rock ‘n Roll exploits,' but he said there might be some benefit in sharing it with others, so he agreed to help me with revisions.  What had begun as a way to help process my own 'stuff,' has resulted in the publication of Death Punch’d—Surviving Five Finger Death Punch’s Metal Mayhem.  At first, I was apprehensive about the reaction I’d get from having the 'arrogance' to think anyone would want to read about my life.  However, that initial apprehension has been replaced by knowing that if my story can help even one person, whatever criticism I might receive will pale in comparison.  I’m not proud of many of the episodes in the book, but the person I was, under the influence, is not who I choose to be.  A heartbeat away from death, I chose life.  So, more than anything, I think Death Punch’d is a reflection of how far one can fall and still find a way back, a way to accomplish goals and dreams and more important...a way to live.  I’d be the last person to say it’s easy.  But, I’d be the first person to say there’s always hope."

SODOM to Release New EP Sacred Warpath in January 2015 on SPV/Steamhammer

On Tour in Europe With KREATOR and ARCH ENEMY!

Listen up, everybody! Mister Tom Angelripper has important things to say on the subject of the brand-new SODOM EP Sacred Warpath, on the state of the world and on life in general. He's really vented his feelings: "Since we've been getting the impression that the world is falling apart at the seams, we've decided to make our voices head ... while there's still time. 'Sacred Warpath' was originally written for our upcoming album, but we feel it's a good idea to release it now as an appetizer for future Sodom tracks. Because it's going to get raw, brutal and will be a reflection of all the things that we're afraid of and that give us nightmares. Pretty much like that hate-filled world we live in. And it's probably more authentic than any of our releases so far."

Tom Angelripper on the bonus material of SODOM's new EP: "The record includes three representative titles which we recorded in Germany this year, and it's guaranteed to become a rare collectors' item. The cover will feature a re-paint of an old design from the 80s, which I did for a demo cover, painted in oil by Christian Ermel. This may all sound a little old-school, but that's intentional. That's what we've always been and always will be about. We very much hope to tie over the waiting time until the arrival of our new album. And now listen to my unmistakable demand on this world: turn back on your sacred warpath and find the path of peace before it's too late. Our music will help you!"

Sacred Warpath will be released worldwide through SPV / Steamhammer on November 28th  in Germany, December 1st  in Europe and late January 2015 in the USA as CD, 10" clear vinyl (limited to 1.000 copies) and download.

HUNTRESS To Support AMON AMARTH In Europe/UK Early 2015!

Supporting Arch Enemy And Kreator In North America This Fall!

California's HUNTRESS will be touring  North Amercia this fall with Arch Enemy and Kreator in support of their latest release, 2013's Starbound Beast. The tour begins October 23rd in Baltimore, MD and runs through November 23rd in Cleveland, OH.

HUNTRESS will continue their rapid  pace, having just announced a full European tour with Amon Amarth as direct support! Vocalist Jill Janus on the upcoming tour :

"The Gods have spoken! HUNTRESS will spend a wintery month with the Vikings from Sweden; Amon Amarth! It's a fantasy come true to tour with one of our favorite bands as direct support. Huntress will bring the fury to Europe and the UK once again! This is an exciting time for us, just launching into a North American tour with the mighty Arch Enemy and Kreator. Our attack has been relentless, we're now recording our third album in Los Angeles with production duo Andrew Alekel (Foo Fighters, No Doubt, Queens of the Stone Age, Clutch) and Jim Rota (Sound City, Fireball Ministry, Kyng), slated for release in early 2015. Spread it, shred it, behead it! Hail Heavy Metal!"

HUNTRESS was spawned from the preternatural union of Jill Janus with underground metal bands Professor and Dark Black. They thrive on thundering drums, heavy riffs, spectral solos and catchy choruses that come from the band's musical concoction of occult science and bong rips. HUNTRESS remains true to the roots of melodic heavy metal with a penchant for thrash, death and black metal.

Starbound Beast - the latest critically acclaimed album by HUNTRESS -is available worldwide on Napalm Records.

On Veteran's Day fans can nominate a friend or family member who has served our country and share their story and photo, with a member of the military being chosen to win a Guitar and more at the end of the tour. On the same day, the band will also bring back merchandise from their first Metal Blade album 'Pursuit of Honor' in their official merch store, with a portion of proceeds to benefit the Wounded Warriors Project, a veterans service organization that offers a variety of programs, service and events for wounded veterans of the military actions following the events of September 11, 2001.

Los Angeles, CA - October 15, 2014 - Twelve Foot Ninja, one of Australia's hottest, most innovative, and experimental new bands have added several show dates to their upcoming U.S. tour with In This Moment, Starset, and 3 Pill Morning. The bands will hit the road this fall and winter with the tour officially kicking off October 26th. Tickets are on sale now. Twelve Foot Ninja have also added two headlining dates that include the Palladium Theatre in Worcester, MA on November 16 and The Studio at Webster Hall in New York City on November 19. With 36 dates now confirmed, Twelve Foot Ninja is supporting the recent stateside re-release of their critically acclaimed debut album Silent Machine (Volkanik Music). Earlier this year, the band took home the prestigious "Best New Talent" award at the sixth annual Revolver Golden Gods Awards.

"The U.S. has been really great to us so far and we're pumped to come back with In This Moment, Starset, and 3 Pill Morning," said guitarist Steve 'Stevic' MacKay. "We've been hibernating in the studio since the last U.S. tour so we're itching to hit the stage and we're ready to unleash."

Twelve Foot Ninja have also released a new 'behind-the-scenes' video featuring footage the band filmed backstage, on stage, in the pit, and everywhere in between while out on the road during their most recent North American tours. MacKay adds "We took some GoPros with us on the last two North American tours. You might spot some of the dudes from Periphery, Dead Letter Circus and Born of Osiris. We had a lot of awesome shows especially Rock On The Range this year, but we should note it's not all waterslides and drinking... there's a lot of showerless days and crippling hangovers." Along with Rock on the Range, the band has been winning over thousands of fans at festivals with their explosive live performances at Welcome to Rockville, Carolina Rebellion, and Rocklahoma cementing a cult-like following on the back of their brand of alternative rock.

The debut single from Silent Machine, "Coming For You," has surpassed more than 1,000,000 YouTube views. Check out the video now online at: http://youtu.be/-ST85Sui43Q
. Widely praised by audiences and critics alike for their ability to combine juxtaposing genres seamlessly, "Coming For You" is the perfect embodiment of this.

In conjunction with the album re-release (featuring two acoustic bonus tracks), the band has bundled a special edition of Silent Machine with a 72-page full-color companion comic book containing 12 individual narratives inspired by the 12 songs featured on Silent Machine. The band collaborated with acclaimed comic artist Keith Draws to produce the comics, which are based on the original Twelve Foot Ninja fable co-written by guitarist Steve 'Stevic' Mackay. The story chronicles a sole ninja's mission to restore balance in a world headed toward a self-inflicted apocalypse. The special edition CD/comic book bundle can now be purchased exclusively at their online store

Often classified as heavy fusion or progressive hard rock but whatever genre you call them, Twelve Foot Ninja are known for their seamless genre hopping, soaring melodies over heavy rock, and witty music videos - they take an authentic approach to each style and tie it all together to deliver an inimitable sonic flavor. Stamped with a five-star review by Blunt Magazine, Silent Machine has been described as "reggae, Fate of Nations-era Robert Plant rock, space-rock, djent, Queensrychean hard rock and more, yet they somehow manage to tie it all together without sounding too ADHD...if you loved Faith No More's King for a Day, you'll feel right at home in this Silent Machine."

Twelve Foot Ninja is Kin on vocals, Steve 'Stevic' MacKay on guitar, Damon McKinnon on bass, Shane 'Russ' Russell on drums, and Rohan Hayes on guitar.

NASHVILLE PUSSY Announce Winter North American Tour Dates

Following a successful first leg of their North American tour NASHVILLE PUSSY have announced a second leg of their North American tour in support of their their latest studio album Up The Dosage.  The album was released this past January via SPV/Steamhammer.  The album can be purchased on Amazon and iTunes

The band has been touring non-stop in support of Up The Dosage and have no intention to stop anytime soon.  Today the band has announced a string of tour dates this December.  The tour starts December 5th with a hometown show in Atlanta, GA and runs through December 20th in Philadelphia, PA.  Support on the tour will come from Valient Thorr and Against the Grain.  A complete list of dates can be found below.

Up the Dosage picks up seamlessly where their 2009 release From Hell To Texas left off. And what is more: their five-year hiatus seems to have done frontman Blaine Cartwright (vocals, guitar) and Ruyter Suys (guitars) good - all 13 new songs (plus two bonus tracks) sound like they were catapulted into to the public from a fountain of youth, rocking in typical Pussy style. Up the Dosage features the first recordings from new bassist Bonnie Buitrago who took over the bass player duties from Karen Cuda.

Rick Beato, known for his production work with Shinedown, mixed the album.  He also is responsible for writing the current #1 Song on the Billboard County Chart "Carolina" by the band Parmalee.

NASHVILLE PUSSY came together in 1996. Ever since, the band has been performing a strenuous annual gig marathon, touring with acts like Motorhead, ZZ Top and Lynyrd Skynyrd, as well as playing festivals like Wacken Open Air. Classic albums such as Let Them Eat Pussy (1998), High As Hell (2000), Say Something Nasty (2002) or From Hell To Texas (2009) have caused an international stir, and their single release: Fried Chicken And Coffee" earned the band a Grammy Nomination in the late Nineties in the category ´Best Metal Performance`.
