Pocono Park in Bushkill, PA was the site of the Berzerkus Festival presented by Zakk Wylde. Featuring performances by Black Label Society, Clutch, Cody Jinks, Rival Sons, Black Stone Cherry and more.
The day long festival featured three stages, food trucks, a car show, a strongman competition, food eating challenges and of course a full day of amazing music.
The mini stage featured a cool performance by the band Kutthroat, two weddings, an arm wrestling competition, and three crazy food eating competitions.
The side stage featured some killer cover bands including Crazy Train (Ozzy), ZOSO (Led Zeppelin), Atomic Punks (Van Halen), and The Iron Maidens (Iron Maiden). Kentucky rockers Black Stone Cherry closed out the side stage music.
The main stage brought all the Berzerkers in attendance together to finish off the night with epic sets from the festival's big name artists. Sick Century kicked off the main stage music followed by the evening's first main act, Rival Sons. The Grammy nominated band from Long Beach, CA kicked off the night with a full set of tunes and their high energy set got the crowd fired up.
Maryland rockers Clutch were up next and put on one hell of a set. They opened with "X-Ray Visions" and their set included fan favorites "Earth Rocker", "DC Sound Attack", "The Regulator", and "Firebirds".
Grim Reaper guitarist Nick Bowcott took over for a tribute to the late Pantera guitarist Dimebag Darrell Abbott. Nick brilliantly strung together some of Dime's most iconic riffs into a performance that had the Berzerkus crowd cheering and praising Dimebag.
The band that brought the crowd to Bushkill, PA was up next. BLACK LABEL SOCIETY took to the stage and laid waste to everyone in attendance. To start, with the lights down, a genius track that blended the music of Led Zeppelin's "Whole Lotta Love" with the vocals of Black Sabbath's "War Pigs" played over the house sound system. The Berzerkers sang together each word of the iconic Sabbath tune and had the crowd rabid for BLS. When Zakk and band hit the stage the riffs were loud, fast, and nothing other than masterful. One spine-chilling moment was when the band performed "In This River". Zakk playing his all black BLS logo'd grand piano was stunning and this beautiful song seemed to move the whole crowd. "Suicide Messiah", "Stillborn" and others gave all Berzerkers all they could handle.
To close the evening, outlaw country king Cody Jinks came out to polish off this incredible evening of music. Zakk of course came out to join in on the fun and by the time the last note played out, the first ever Berzerkus Festival ended one highly successful day at Pocono Park.
